Due to NCAA sanctions the Buckeyes were unable to play in the postseason. Led by Braxton Miller and Ryan Shazier it is realistic to think that OSU had a strong chance to win the national title. The Buckeyes ended the season ranked #3 in the final AP Poll.
4. 1973 10-0-1 (Rose Bowl – W)
The number 4 spot belongs to the 1973 team. Cornelius Greene and Archie Griffin commanded the offense. The Bucks tied Michigan in week 10, but finished the year strong as they beat USC in the Rose Bowl 42-21.
3. 1954 10-0 (Rose Bowl – W)
Woody Hayes led the 1954 Buckeyes to an undefeated season. The Buckeyes averaged 24.9 points per game, while only giving up 7.5 points per game. They dominated USC in the Rose Bowl to finish the season as national champions.
2. 2014 14-1 (Sugar Bowl – W, College Football Championship – W)
The 2014 team takes the number 2 spot. This team was filled with stars like Urban Meyer, J.T. Barrett, Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliot, Devin Smith, Joshua Perry, Joey Bosa, and Darron Lee. OSU beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and Oregon in the College Football Championship.
1. 2002 14-0 (Fiesta Bowl – W)
The top spot belongs to the 2002 team. Coached by Jim Tressel, the Buckeyes were untouchable. Michael Jenkins led the receivers with 1076 yards and the defense was dominant allowing only 13.1 points per game. OSU defeated Miami in the Fiesta Bowl 31-24 to finish the season undefeated.
